How to Delete Your Data
Last updated: April 2, 2026
YellowHat is designed with privacy in mind. You can delete all your data at any time by following the steps below. We do not store full message content on our servers, so most data is deleted automatically when you uninstall the app.
Steps to Delete Your Data
1Uninstall the Kids App from the child's device
This removes all locally stored notification logs and alert metadata from the device.
How to uninstall:
- Long press the YellowHat Kids App icon
- Select "Uninstall"
- Confirm the action
2Unlink the child device from the Parent App (if linked)
This stops any alerts or remote configuration being sent between devices.
How to unlink:
- Open the YellowHat Parent App
- Select the child device you want to unlink
- Tap "Unlink Device" or the unlink option
- Confirm the action
3Optional: Clear App Data
This ensures all local analysis logs are removed (only necessary if you want to keep the app installed).
How to clear app data:
- Go to device Settings
- Navigate to Apps or Application Manager
- Find YellowHat Kids App
- Select Storage or Storage & cache
- Tap "Clear Data"
What Data is Deleted
When you uninstall the app or unlink your device, the following data is deleted:
- ✓Local notification analysis logs: All on-device records of analyzed notifications
- ✓Device pairing information: Secure pairing data between Kids and Parent apps
- ✓Optional shared alert content: Any notification content shared with the Parent App (if subscription feature was enabled)
- ✓Remote configuration settings: Parent-defined rules and monitoring preferences
What Data is NOT Retained by YellowHat Servers
By design, YellowHat does not store the following data:
- ✓Full message content: Complete notification or message text is never stored in the cloud
- ✓Personal identifiers: Names, emails, phone numbers, or other personal information are never collected
- ✓Chat history: Full conversation logs are never uploaded to our servers
Data Retention Period
- •Local data: Deleted immediately upon uninstall or when clearing app data
- •Server-side data: No server-side retention for non-subscription data; alert metadata may be retained only while an active subscription exists
- •After unlinking: All shared data between devices is immediately ceased
Additional Deletion Options
Delete Specific Alert History
If you want to delete specific alerts without uninstalling the app, you can use the app's settings to clear individual alert history or specific types of alerts. Refer to your app's menu options for more details.
Cancel Subscription
To stop receiving alerts and cancel your subscription:
- Open your device's app store (Google Play or Apple App Store)
- Go to Subscriptions or Purchases
- Find YellowHat Parent App
- Select "Cancel Subscription" or "Unsubscribe"
Canceling your subscription stops new alerts and premium features, but you can keep the app installed if you want to maintain device linking.
