Welcome to YellowHat (“we,” “our,” or “us”). By using the YellowHat App (“App”), including the Kids App and Parent App, you agree to these Terms of Use (“Terms”). Please read them carefully.
If you do not agree with these Terms, do not use the App.
1. Eligibility
- The Kids App is intended for children under parental supervision.
- Parents or guardians must accept these Terms before linking their device to a child’s device or subscribing to premium features.
- By using the App, you confirm that you have the legal authority to accept these Terms on behalf of yourself and any child under your supervision.
- Users must comply with applicable laws, including child privacy laws.
2. Linking and Subscriptions
- Parents can link their device to a child’s device using the Parent App.
- Linking allows parents to optionally receive notifications and access premium features if a subscription is active.
- Premium features, including real-time notifications and remote management (e.g., selecting apps to analyze or adding keywords), require a subscription purchased via the Google Play Store or Apple App Store.
- Without a premium subscription, parents can still link devices but will not receive real-time alerts; they must manually check the child’s device for flagged content.
- Subscription billing is handled by the respective platform and is subject to their terms, including auto-renewal, cancellation, and refunds.
3. Using the App
- The Kids App can operate independently without internet connectivity; linking and premium features are optional.
- The App may analyze notifications locally on the child’s device to detect potentially harmful content.
- Users agree not to misuse the App, interfere with its operation, servers, or data, or attempt to bypass security features.
- You may not copy, reproduce, distribute, or create derivative works from the App without written permission.
4. Data and Privacy
- Notification logs are stored only on the child’s device and are not uploaded to the cloud by default.
- Minimal information is transmitted to the Parent App only for premium users, and only if alerts are enabled. Parents may toggle whether alert content is included.

- We collect only the minimum information necessary for the App’s functionality, and sensitive data remains on-device whenever possible.
5. Security
- We implement reasonable measures to protect your data and the App.
- However, no system is completely secure. We cannot guarantee absolute protection from unauthorized access or data breaches.
6. Intellectual Property
- All content, design, graphics, and code in the App are owned by YellowHat and protected under copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws.
- You may not use our intellectual property for commercial purposes without prior written permission.
7. Limitation of Liability
- The App is provided “as is” without warranties, express or implied.
- We are not liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the App, including missed notifications, incorrect detection of content, or data loss.
- YellowHat is a moderation tool to assist parents and may not detect all harmful content; it does not replace parental supervision.
8. Changes to the App or Terms
- We may update the App or these Terms at any time.
- Changes will be reflected by updating the “Last updated” date above.
- Continued use of the App constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
9. Termination
- We may suspend or terminate access to the App for violations of these Terms.
- Users may unlink devices or cancel subscriptions at any time via the Parent App.
- Upon cancellation or termination, premium features and alert notifications will no longer be available.
