The terms for using YellowHat Kids and YellowHat Parent. Updated 10 October 2026.
1. Using YellowHat
By using YellowHat, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the apps. A parent or guardian must have the authority to set up monitoring and accept these terms for a child under their supervision. Use YellowHat only as permitted by applicable law.
2. What the service does
YellowHat analyses available notification content and can flag potential risks. It may miss harmful content or flag content incorrectly. It does not replace parental supervision, provide a complete record of conversations or guarantee a child’s safety. Device permissions, background restrictions, model readiness, connectivity and subscription status can affect operation.
3. Free Kids app and optional Parent features
YellowHat Kids, including supported settings changed directly on the Android phone, is free. Parent alerts and remote controls are optional and require a separate subscription for each Kids device. Linking a device does not itself start a purchase. Keep account access, parent PINs and pairing codes secure. Review the localized price, renewal period and terms shown by the app store before purchasing. Store billing, renewal, cancellation and refund terms apply. Uninstalling an app or deleting a YellowHat account does not cancel store billing.
4. Referral trials
An eligible new Parent subscriber may apply one creator invite code to one linked child device. The stated trial period ends automatically and does not start a paid subscription. Availability, code limits and eligibility may vary. The creator who shared the code may receive a commission if the referred Parent later buys a subscription.
5. Data and privacy
Read the Kids privacy notice and Parent privacy notice for the information each app handles. Notification analysis stays on the Kids phone with YellowHat Offline AI. Current Parent alert titles and reasons are end-to-end encrypted for registered Parent installations. Full notification text sharing is off by default and requires an explicit privacy confirmation.
6. Acceptable use and ownership
Do not misuse the service, interfere with its operation, attempt unauthorised access or bypass security controls. Do not copy, redistribute or commercially exploit YellowHat’s code, design or branding without permission, except where permitted by applicable law or relevant third-party licences.
7. Availability and responsibility
The apps are provided “as is”, to the extent permitted by law. We do not guarantee uninterrupted service, detection accuracy or absolute security. To the extent permitted by law, YellowHat is not liable for loss arising from missed or incorrect alerts, interruptions or data loss. These terms do not exclude rights or liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.
8. Changes and ending use
We may update the apps and these terms. The date above identifies the latest revision. Continued use after an update constitutes acceptance to the extent permitted by law. We may suspend access for misuse or violations of these terms. You can stop using the apps, revoke device links and manage subscriptions separately. See the data deletion guide for removal requests.
